Broadview House is situated in Garner Close
Dagenham Essex. It was built just over 5 years ago to provide 18 flats for the frail and elderly. It is linked with Brady Court in Peters Close, which has 33 flats and residents share the same support workers and social activities. There are also 46 sheltered bungalows in Garner Close and in Baron Road. The complex is run by 2 Senior Support Workers from 9am -5pm and is manned from 9pm-9am by a sleep in worker. Facilities include a dining room, a laundry room and a guest room where friends and family can stay for a charge of £10 per night. Everyone has their own 1 bedroom flat or bungalow and share the very pleasant gardens. Both Broadview House and Brady Court now boast their own computer rooms.
Activities are organised on a regular basis by Senior Support Workers Sandra and Joanne.
Staples House is a nice place to live
The staff here have lots of support to give
The communal rooms are kept nice and clean
Through the windows, gardens and park can be seen
The staff here work hard to organise special days
They try to keep us happy in all different ways
We have customer meeting to air our views
And to see if Springboard have got any news.
Also we are only five minutes from the DLR
Or three retail parks to go by bus or car
We can see lots of planes at the City Airport
Maybe going to Paris or even Stuttgart.

About our area
Dagenham has a large shopping centre, also close by are Romford, Ilford & Barking shopping centres.
Before the second world war in the 1930s, property developers moved into Dagenham. Local councils were involved to deal with the overspill of East London, to give working class people better housing. Dagenham had the nickname 'Corned Beef City' as that was all people could afford to eat at that time.
The Ford Motor Company saw this as an opportunity to find workers, so built a large factory in Dagenham between 1929 and 1931.
The actor Dudley Moore lived in Baron Road before he was famous.
